This is to inform all returning undergraduate students of the University of Ibadan (UI) that the registration process for the 2026/2027 academic session has officially commenced. Students are encouraged to follow the steps carefully to ensure successful course registration and payment.

About the University of Ibadan (UI)

Founded in 1948, the University of Ibadan is Nigeria’s premier university. Initially affiliated with the University of London, UI became a fully independent university in 1962.

Today, UI offers programs across 16 faculties, including:

The faculties of Basic Clinical Sciences, Clinical Sciences, Public Health, and Dentistry are collectively organized as the College of Medicine.

UI also hosts several research institutes and centers, such as:

  • Institute of Child Health

  • Institute of Education

  • Centre for Child, Adolescent & Mental Health

UI Registration Guidelines for Returning Undergraduate Students

Important Notes:

  • Registration is fully online.

  • Visit your departmental page on the UI website (www.ui.edu.ng) for course advisories.

  • Contact your Level Adviser for guidance if necessary.

  • Login to the registration portal to pay fees and register courses.

  • Verify your registered courses after completing registration.

  • Access your institutional email for instructions on attending lectures. Check your junk folder if you don’t see messages in your inbox.

Student Email Setup:

  • Username: First letter of your first name + surname + last three digits of your matriculation number (e.g., rbogunro456@stu.ui.edu.ng

  • Default password: password (you will be prompted to change it)

  • Forgotten password: Reset via UI email portal

Note: Lecture access on lms.ui.edu.ng is allowed even during ongoing registration.

UI Payment Steps for Returning Students

  1. Login to the portal using your Matric Number and password.

  2. Open the default Fee Assessment Page.

  3. Click Pay Your Fees at the top-right corner.

  4. Select your payment type and click Add Selected ItemsProceed.

  5. Check the Remita box and click Post Now.

  6. Copy the Remita Retrieval Reference (RRR).

  7. Continue to the payment gateway.

  8. Choose your preferred payment mode:

  9. After payment, return to the portal to finalize course registration.

Note: Registration cannot proceed without payment of all required fees.

UI Course Registration Steps for Returning Students

  1. Click My Registration or navigate to Registration.

  2. View default courses for your academic level.

  3. To add courses:

    • Click Add Course

    • Enter the Course Code and search

    • Tick the checkbox to select the course

    • Click Add

  4. After selecting all courses, click Save and Submit.

  5. Contact your course adviser if unsure about course selection.
