Job Responsibilities
Mechanical Technician graduates at Chevron will:
-
Carry out maintenance, repairs, alignment, and testing on rotating machinery such as pumps, compressors, chillers, centrifuges, couplings, and seals.
-
Maintain pressure relief equipment including safety valves, breather valves, and emergency hatches.
-
Oversee repair, painting, insulation, and servicing of permanent equipment such as storage tanks, heat exchangers, fin fans, pressure vessels, and piping.
-
Read and interpret P&ID diagrams, datasheets, crane lifting plans, and technical drawings.
-
Prepare job safety risk assessments and ensure all work follows proper safety procedures with valid permits and personal protective equipment.

Work with operations, warehouse, and suppliers to coordinate urgent maintenance activities.
-
Provide post-maintenance reports and update quality assurance checklists.
-
Support troubleshooting and equipment analysis with operations and suppliers.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must meet the following conditions:

Hold a NITEC, Higher NITEC, or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (or a related field).

Have at least 2 years of relevant work experience (oil & gas, petrochemical, or pharmaceutical industries preferred).

Fresh graduates may apply.

Strong communication skills (written and verbal).
Preferred Skills Include:
-
Experience with fixed hoists and drilling tools.
-
Ability to assemble PVC tubing and piping with threaded fittings.
-
Knowledge of hydro-testing for fixed or rotating equipment.
-
Familiarity with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) to record equipment history and work updates.
